As you Fierce Fans of Monster High know, many of the Monster High dolls come without stands. I have over 25 without stands so I needed an in-expensive way to display the "Standless" dolls. I checked out Ebay and several online websites but they were way too expensive, especially for the amount of stands I need, plus it's not like I'm going to stop buying Monster High dolls so I'll need more in the future. Then Froggy over at MyFroggyStuff came up with a great way to make doll stands and I was thrilled! I set out to make my first doll stand, totally confident that I could do it without a hitch. Then came the part where you have to attach the thingy to the other thingy to make the "belt" to hold the doll and I was finished making my doll stand. I'm not good with "fiddly" stuff and I don't have the patience that Froggy does. I had to figure something out. My solution was pizza box supports, the triangle ones in particular although you could use the round ones. I experimented a little using Froggy's tutorial and came up with a way to use the pizza box support to hold my doll. I was very happy with myself but I soon realized that I was going to have to eat a whole lot of pizzas to make 25+ doll stands. In order to keep my ghoulish figure I needed a way to get a lot pizza box supports on the cheap, and without the calories. I found BarSupplies.com....100 of them cost $2.99! Yay!! Shipping was $6.51 but I think it was worth it. I also made a stand for a Barbie, just to see if it would work, it did, photo at the bottom.
Barbie's stand needed a dowel instead of a pencil.
